Reflection to" Recipe for a Successful Website"

"Recipe for a Successful Website" by Nathan Shedroff
This article is really interesting and “yummy.” It uses recipe as a metaphor of website, and introduce the important ingredients of a successful website. It lets my easily understand why those elements are important to a successful website. For example, the author mentions that people should use only fresh ingredients for cooking; therefore, a designer should not use out-of-date information as the content. I really enjoy reading this article.

The author definitely made understanding designing a successful website much easier using the metophor of a cooking recipe. Updating and keeping ideas fresh is more appealing than using the same tired ideas.

I agree with you that the idea behind "fresh" content is one key to a great website. The concept makes designing a site simple and easy to remember. Fresh ideas stimulate learning, so hopefully we can all use them in our sites we design.

His analogy made reading the article very fun and understandable. "Fresh" ingredients are usually better that old ones.

Yup I agree. I think our enjoyment of the reading shows that he used those ingredients when writing. So it's nice to know that his advice is not just for the web but for anything we create!
