Reflection to "Web Style Guide"
Recently, I go back to read the article “Web Style Guide” again because I need to re-consider the style of my web site. There is a part about clear navigation aids. In my project, I need to provide lots of information and diverse aspects about New York, it could be a problem for users if I did not set the information architecture well. I hope my users would get clear ideas although the information provided is rich. Therefore, that is the reason why I set up a button “Site Map” in my project.

It is always a great idea to be as clear as possible. The test is that if you have a navigation problem, it is most likely your users will experience similar sets of problems.
The Web Style Guide was very useful and helpful.

Navigation, while not necessarily thought of to be a creative or personal aspect, truly is one of, if not the, most important part of designing your site because if there are errors or the system is not consistent, your users will most likely resort to googling another site on the same topic.

Site maps are always a good idea, I know that while I search some websites, the site map is helpful for navigation and also to see at-a-glance if the site has what you are looking for. =)

It is always good to have a site map. Just make sure it doesn't act as a page for users to go to because they can't find something through your navigation. I would think intuitive navigation would be most important and a good site map is more of a nice to have. Since you anticipate the navigation being complex, a site map could be really helpful!

I am a big fan of site maps. Whenever I can't find what I'm looking for, I always head to the site map. Good thinking.
